Name
Avanti
Age
22
Blog Name
Avanti’s Place

Avanti's Place

What’s the story behind the blog name?
It started off in 2011 as Novel Utopia but then I wanted something more personal. My blog was my own little place on the internet to talk all I wanted about books; my literary home. So Avanti’s Place just seemed right. It became the name & theme of the blog.
Why did you start to book blog and how long have you been book blogging?
I started my book blog because had just gotten a kindle and was so excited about it. I’m in college and probably one of the only book bloggers not in school for a career in the book world; I’m a fashion major. Most of my friends and classmates don’t read as much as I do so I started the blog as place to talk about the wonderful books I was reading. I officially launched my blog March 29, 2011 so it’s been almost 2 years!
Where is your favorite place to read?
Right next to the fireplace in my living room when I’m at home and in my room or on my balcony when I’m away at school
E-book or Hardcopy? Why?
Hmm.. They both have their advantages & drawbacks but I’d say hardcopy. You can share them with lots of people while you can only lend kindle books once & only if they’re lendable. And the covers are beautiful to look at J

Favorite book of all-time and why?
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. That book made me completely reevaluate my life and made me think about how I treat people. We never know how the little things we do can affect somebody else.
Do you have any blogs/bloggers that you look up to or that inspire you (feel free to name-drop)?
Absolutely! Alexis over at Reflections of A Bookaholic was one of the first friends I had on goodreads and Zakiya at Butterfly Feet has inspired me as well. She’s the reason I started my goal of reaching 1 million lifetime pages.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Sleep! I love sleeping in on the weekends & being lazy around the house. I also love to watch movies, I’m so excited about all the great book movies that are coming out this year!

Name a dessert, a color, a drink?
 Peach cobbler, turquoise, ginger ale
If you could be one character, who would you be and why?
ANY character? Princess Jasmine, I’d love to have a pet tiger & a magic carpet. From a book, Kelsey from the Tiger Saga. She gets to go on such amazing adventures in order to break a curse on her two favorite men.
How many books (on average) do you read a month?
About 5. I don’t get much time to read because of school but I try not to take too much time to finish a book
What are your favorite book-to-movie adaptations? Why?
I loved The Hunger Games. It stayed pretty true to the book with a few exceptions and everything was almost as good as it was in my head. Big plus!
Do you have any book boyfriends? If so, name them and explain why?
Not exactly, I fall in love with every guy from the books I read. Imagine if the best qualities from all of them were combined into one!
Name 5 books that everyone should at least read once:
1.     Crank by Ellen Hopkins
2.     Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
3.     The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
4.     Voices of Angels by Hannah M. Davis
5.     Rot & Ruin by Jonathon Maberry
What is your dream job?
I’m in school for fashion so my dream job is to own my own custom gown business. I’d love to dress the stars for the red carpet & create custom prom gowns
What book are you most looking forward to reading?
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. I fell in love with Cinder and am so ready to continue to the story and be introduced to a new character. Little Red Riding Hood!
Thanks so much for this! Good luck this year with your blog, I hope it grows greatly for you!

It was so great getting to know you Avanti! Thanks for letting me interview you and letting other bloggers and followers get to know you better! Thirteen Reasons Why is on my TBR pile for this year! xo
