The truth about Mara Dyer's dangerous and mysterious abilities continues to unravel in the New York Times bestselling sequel to the thrilling The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past. She can't. She used to think her problems were all in her head. They aren't. She couldn't imagine that after everything she's been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets. She's wrong. In this gripping sequel to The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, the truth evolves and choices prove deadly. What will become of Mara Dyer next?
I wasn’t sure if anything could top the first book. Boy was I wrong. The second book in this trilogy was spectacular! It started pretty much from where the first one had ended and oh my goodness, what a mind fuck this book was! I can’t wait to see what Michelle has in store for us in the third part. I’ve been told that third one is even more mindfuckery. (Excuse the language, but there’s no other way to describe this series and I love it).
Anyways, I fall in love Mara and Noah even more in this second book. They’re relationship is so intense. They truly care for each other, yet at the same time they are both so fucked up that they’re relationship can sometimes be too much. But I’d rather have their relationship then a boring one. That’s for sure.
There are even more flashbacks of another life in this second one and with the flashbacks just come more questions. It’s like Michelle answers questions but then supplies more questions. But I love it! It keeps me reading and it keeps me intrigued. And I cannot tell you how much I have pushed this series to other people. I was at the bookstore the day after Christmas and I was looking at the third book even though I had already bought it and when I put it back on the shelf a girl came by and picked it up to start reading the jacket flap. I asked her she had read that series and she said no. I told her she had to because it was one of my favorites. So I pointed to the first book and told her she had to get it but to be aware that once you start reading it, you won’t be able to stop. She then smiled at me and thanked me and then went to the register and bought it. I couldn’t help myself. I just had to!
I don’t want to go into too much detail about this second book, because I don’t want to spoil anything. But just know that if you loved the first one, you’ll love this one just as much if not more! This series has definitely been my favorite thing to read and these books will definitely be reread! And I don’t reread a whole lot of books.
But beware when you get to the last 20-50 pages of the book because you’ll be yelling and calling people names. At least I did and I was at my friend’s house drinking, so that wasn’t embarrassing at all. But the girls were wondering what I was reading and they all put that series on their lists to read, so that made me feel better. 🙂
If I were to live a thousand year, I would belong to you for all of them. If we were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.
Everyone is a little crazy. The only difference between us and them is that they hide it better.
“I’m too selfish to leave you,” I said. Noah pulled back so I could see his smile. “I’m too selfish to let you.”
I’m not sure you can appreciate how much I want to lay you out before me and make you scream my name.
I knew one hundred little things about Noah Shaw but when he kissed me I couldn’t remember my own name.
But when everyone tells you you’re crazy and no one believes you when you swear you aren’t, a small part of you will always wonder if they’re right.
Let’s talk. Did you read The Evolution of Mara Dyer? What did you think of it?
