Mira Toria nailed it. This book was beautiful. Mira’s writing is flawless. This is a unique romance book. It veered away from the typical cliches you’d usually find in romances but it was every bit as lovely. Kudos to you, Mira.

Almost Loved was a beautiful debut by Mira Toria. I honestly cannot wait to read more by her! What I loved most about this book was that it wasn’t just about the romance. It had a realness to it. I felt for Lyris and the struggles she went through. She actually sounds a lot like one of my friends. Hesitant to start anything because of a previous bad relationship.

I really liked not only the main characters Lyris and Hale but I also loved most of the secondary characters like Evey. Especially Evey. She was blunt and honest and supportive. Just like one of my best friends. I really admired Evey.

It’s really hard describing why you love a story. But I did. This book was a breath of fresh air within the romance genre. The only reason why it’s not a 4 star is because I wanted more of everything. I wanted to hear about Evey and West. I wanted more romance. I wanted more between Lyris and Hale and I wanted closure with Hale’s past.

If you’re in the mood for a beautiful romance that feels more real than most of the other books out there, then you should check Almost Loved out because that’s exactly what you will get. I tip my hat off to you Mira!

Let’s talk about it. Did you read Almost Loved? Or do you want to? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 🙂

I love contemporary romance stories and it’s definitely one of my favourite genres but a lot of the times, especially in NA, they can really be a let down for me either because the story is predictable, the characters are stereotypes, it’s too cheesy, it’s not believable etc. etc. SO to hear this book is REAL and has a great romance with great characters I think I should give this one a go! The only thing I’m wary about is the love triangle aspect which is a trope I despise. I’m not sure how greatly affects the story but I hope it’s not too much!
