Monthly Recap [April 2015]

Posted April 30, 2015 by Stephanie in Wrap Up / 0 Comments

So, I’m going to do this new thing monthly where I let you guys know a little bit more about me. I used to do this over on Bookish. But since I’m not there anymore, I decided to bring over a version of the Bookish Digest over here. I’ll let you know what my favorite read was for the month and I’ll link up some of my posts from the month as well as give you guys some news or information about my life.
My pick for the month of April:

Title: The Book of Ivy
Author: Amy Engel
Series: The Book of Ivy #1
Genre: Young Adult, Dystopian, Romance,
Published By: Entangled Teen on November 11, 2014
My review

After a brutal nuclear war, the United States was left decimated. A small group of survivors eventually banded together, but only after more conflict over which family would govern the new nation. The Westfalls lost. Fifty years later, peace and control are maintained by marrying the daughters of the losing side to the sons of the winning group in a yearly ritual.

This year, it is my turn.

My name is Ivy Westfall, and my mission is simple: to kill the president’s son—my soon-to-be husband—and restore the Westfall family to power.

But Bishop Lattimer is either a very skilled actor or he’s not the cruel, heartless boy my family warned me to expect. He might even be the one person in this world who truly understands me. But there is no escape from my fate. I am the only one who can restore the Westfall legacy.

Because Bishop must die. And I must be the one to kill him…

What happened in April:
1. My best friend got married! It was a long, long day but it was a blast!
2. I turned 25.
3. I attempted Camp NaNoWriMo but like every other NaNoWriMo I partake in, life gets in the way so badly! I’m pretty sure that this April has been THE BUSIEST month I’ve EVER had.
What I’m looking forward to for May:
1. Relaxation. I am finally going to have time to read, write, and basically do anything I want to. I think I may even take a few days off work to sit outside and do lots of reading.
2. THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON!!!!!!!! (This needs no explanation)
3. My fiance’s birthday. (He’s not looking forward to it, but I love birthdays)

Let’s talk about it. What were some of your favorite reads this month? Did you read any of these books? What are you looking forward to next month? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 🙂
