Bout of Books

This is the post where I will keep all of the challenges I participate in!

Monday:
Bookish Survey
(Writing My Own Fairytale)

1. How do you organize your shelves?

As of right now they are mostly in alphabetical order by author’s last name. Once my fiance gets my library done I think I might do a favorites section and separate by genre? Or color? I’m not sure yet! ๐Ÿ™‚

2. What is one of your favorite books that’s not in one of your favorite genres?

I am going to have to go with poetry on this. I don’t read much poetry. That doesn’t mean I don’t like it. I just don’t have books of poems like I do with all the fiction books I have piled up around my house. So, I’m going to go with Edgar Allan Poe’s poems. (The Raven and Annabel Lee as my all-time faves)

3. What is the last 5 star book you read?

The Secrets We Keep by Trisha Leaver (read my review here)

4. What book are you most excited to read during the read-a-thon?

Possibly A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. As long as I can get through the other books I’m currently reading first.

5. What book do you recommend the most?

The book I definitely recommend the most would have to be The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (review here) or Cinder by Marissa Meyer (review here). They are both such great series and when somebody tells me that they haven’t read them yet. I constantly tell them to read it until they do. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wednesday:
Book Haiku
(Kristina Horner)
This challenge is to take one of the books we’re reading right now and make a haiku about it. If you don’t know what a haiku is.: It’s a short 3 line poem. The first line is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables, and the third line is 5 syllables. Since I’m reading both Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick and Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins, I will make a haiku for both. ๐Ÿ™‚

Black Ice:
Mason, Jude, or Cal
One of you is lying, big time
My bet is on Cal

Isla and the Happily Ever After:
Isla and Josh sit
While Josh eyes Isla’s red hair
Isla falls in love

Okay, so I totally like the Black Ice haiku so much more than the Isla haiku. But oh well, it was fun!! What did you guys come up with?!

wow, I discover readers are so much more disciplined than me for their bookshelves! awesome!

  2. haha. I just have OCD when it comes to books and movies. All of our movies are in alphabetical order as well. I could have clothes strewn all about my floor (which is usually the case) but the second my books are not in some sort of organized chaos, I kind of go crazy. haha. I'll check your post out! Thanks for stopping by! ๐Ÿ™‚

I loved CINDER — a great book to recommend. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you read lots of wonderful books this read-a-thon!
