A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.
Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!
I threw myself into that fire, threw myself into it, into him, and let myself burn.
Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.
He brought his lips to my ear. “I would have been gentle with you, though.” I shuddered as I closed my eyes. Every inch of my body went taut as his words echoed through me. “I would have had you moaning my name throughout it all. And I would have taken a very, very long time, Feyre.”
“I love you,” he whispered, and kissed my brow. “Thorns and all.”
“I love you,” I said, and stabbed him.
OMG! I loved this book!! This book is definitely one of my favorites that I’ve read not only this year but also of all time! Sarah J. Maas is an AUTO-BUY for me. I will forever and always pre-order her books because I have no doubt that I will love everything she writes! Seriously if you haven’t given either of her series a shot, you need to now!
ACOTAR is a fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It was a very good rendition and kept to the basic Beauty and the Beast plot, but was also original at the same time. Sarah did a fantastic job at not only being able to have the reader keep going even though the reader knows how Beauty and the Beast ends because you may think you know where Sarah is going, but trust me, there are *plenty* of surprises within this book.
Feyre is the main character. She plays the “Belle” character. I loved Feyre. I hated her family for the most part. Her sisters redeemed themselves for the most part at the end. But for the majority of the book I hated Feyre’s entire family. But Feyre herself, I loved! She was responsible, caring, and determined.
Tamlin. Lucien. Rhysand. All of these boys have their own amazing qualities and their own faults. Tamlin is the sexy “Beast” character and I personally love him. He is loving and kind but he also has a “beastly” side as well. Lucien is amazing and he is good comic relief, even if he can be an ass every so often. Rhys… he is the dark character (who does ultimately save Feyre, but I don’t know if I trust him) and I like him but I don’t think I like him for Feyre. I think I’d like him with her sister Nesta. Because I’m pretty sure I’m shipping the whole Tamlin and Feyre forever.
All-in-all, this was a beautiful retelling and it’s perfect for SJM fans as well as fantasy fans, fairytale fans, romance fans, etc. The reason why I put NA as the genre is because yes, I think young adults would enjoy this, however, there are some sexual content and some language. So, I think that if I had kids and they wanted to read this, I’d say they should be at least in high school. Just because of the mature content. But it is SO good!!! So, go read this book!!

I love fairy tale retellings, I would read them all day if I could!
Then you will enjoy this one! Thanks for stopping by!
I freaking love this book. I also am all about Rhys!
I love Fairy Tale Retellings so much!!!!!
This book is great! 😀 I love Rhys, but not for Feyre. haha.
This is a good fairy tale retelling! You'll love it!
I have yet to read all of ACoTaR, but I've loved and read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight. I adored them both so much!
SJM is on auto buy for me as well, but I haven't gotten the chance to pick this one up yet! It sounds so good and I'm sure I'm gonna love it
It's so good! I'm already itching to reread it! 🙂 I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I would definitely choose A Court of Thorns and Roses! I heard so much about it and I was interested in reading it. Thank you for this amazing chance! 🙂
I absolutely LOVED ACOTAR, it was such an amazing story and I fell in love with the world SJM created. It was so intriguing with so many twists and turns that I wasn't expecting, but it also followed a path that I genuinely enjoyed! I unfortunately borrowed it from my sister, so this beauty hasn't graced my shelves yet D:
I've heard great things about ACOTAR!
I have almost only hear of good things about this book, and I LOVE the Throne of Glass series. I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on A Court of Thorns and Roses (and neither can my mom 🙂 )!
