Month: September 2015

Monthly Recap [September 2015]

Posted September 30, 2015 by Stephanie in Wrap Up / 0 Comments

So, I’m going to do this new thing monthly where I let you guys know a little bit more about me. I used to do this over on Bookish Lifestyle. But since I’m not there anymore, I decided to bring over a version of the Bookish Digest over here. I’ll let you know what my favorite read was for the month and I’ll link up some of my posts from the month as well as give you guys some news or information about my life.
My pick for the month of September:

Title: Crown of Midnight
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Series: Throne of Glass #2
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance, Magic
Published By: Bloomsbury on August 27, 2013
**My Review**

From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil.

Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingly difficult when Celaena realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. As she tries to untangle the mysteries buried deep within the glass castle, her closest relationships suffer. It seems no one is above questioning her allegiances—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena’s world shatters, she will be forced to give up the very thing most precious to her and decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie… and whom she is ultimately willing to fight for.

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine every Wednesday. It’s about spotlighting some of the releases we are awaiting eagerly.
This week I’m waiting patiently eagerly for…

Title: Winter
Author: Marissa Meyer
Series: The Lunar Chronicles #4
Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction, Retelling, Fantasy, Romance
Published By: Feiwel and Friends
Coming out on November 10, 2015

Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.

Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.

Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters?
(Goodreads)

This series just gets better and better with each installment. So far, my favorite book in the series was Cress. I haven’t read Fairest yet. I think I will wait until after the 800+ pages of Winter. I really cannot wait to see what Marissa has in store for the ending of this series! 🙂

Let’s talk about it.
Were you lucky enough to get an early copy of Winter? Were there even early copies? What’s your Waiting on Wednesday? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 🙂
