Posted January 31, 2016 by In Wonderland Team in Update, Wrap Up / 0 Comments

This is a monthly highlight of what we read, our favorites, what happened in our lives, and a list of our posts from the month. This Monthly Recap will be up at the end of every month so that you can see what we’ve been up to and get to know us just a little bit more! 🙂

Posts

Once Upon a Kiss by Robin Palmer    4/5
Wither by Lauren DeStefano    3/5
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas   5/5
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas   5/5

What Happened This Month?

1. We finally got a new couch and our living room no longer looks like a dorm room! I am so excited because now I have a great reading and writing spot and I know it will do wonders for me!
2. I started writing every day! It is a habit that I want to continue. I want to work on my WIPs in some way every day and so far, I have been doing just that! 🙂
3. Engagement Photo Shoot. Joe and I had one of our photo shoots for the wedding this month and it wasn’t bad at all. Just waiting for pictures to get back! 🙂

Alice Takes Back Wonderland by David D. Hammons    3/5

What Happened This Month?

1. I got offered to compete for a full scholarship at the university I intend on going to in the fall! (At the moment this post is probably live, I might be at the interview…o_O)
2. I started gaining more experience with Photoshop, and I’m starting to think it’s more fun than GIMP… (or maybe I’ll apply those skills onto GIMP). No pressure, right? Meanwhile, check out some things I did to one photo [Photos in Sophia’s Photoshop Shenanigans]
3. One of my friends and I haven’t spoken to each other for nearly four years – we took a few hours to catch up on our shenanigans and just talk while messing around with dinosaurs on a game.

What Happened This Month?

1. I traveled to New York City all by my lonesome for the PassTruth tour. Driving in NYC was terifying, and I definitely don’t recommend it. But, meeting Susan Dennard, Alex Bracken, and Erin Bowman was amazing! They’re all such incredible authors, and people in general. It made panicking while city driving well worth it.

2. Almost immediately after returning from NYC, I developed a cough that would not go away. After dealing with it for a week, I went to the doctor and, what do you know! Walking pneumonia! While certainly not what I wanted to hear, the time spent trying not to cough up a lung in my bed was also well spent reading. Hence the insanely long reading list for the month.

3. Winter Storm Jonas hit my hometown pretty hard. Being the snow freak that I am, I was giddy with excitement. My family was confused by my excitement. I didn’t care. Curling up by the fire with a book as the snow fell outside is pretty much the ultimate dream come true for me. I also managed to gain 2 days off work because the snow was so heavy. Thus granting me even more reading time.
