Monthly Recap [February 2016]

Posted February 29, 2016 by In Wonderland Team in Wrap Up / 0 Comments

This is a monthly highlight of what we read, our favorites, what happened in our lives, and a list of our posts from the month. This Monthly Recap will be up at the end of every month so that you can see what we’ve been up to and get to know us just a little bit more! 🙂

What Happened This Month?

1. We had our Wedding Shower! And boy did that take a lot out of me and my house is still a disaster area with trying to put everything away. However, we got a lot of gift cards to Home Depot which means, we’re a little closer to getting the library/office done! 🙂 Cannot wait!!!
2. I learned that when my brain is overwhelmed and fried… I cannot brain. I had trouble speaking because I just couldn’t think. The words were stuck. It was almost as if I was having “pregnancy brain” with how I was acting.

What Happened This Month?

1. A lot of people are probably wondering the results of the scholarship competition over at the college I plan on going to. Unfortunately, I did not get the scholarship, but I’m hoping to get enough Financial Aid that I get into little or no debt. ^_^ (My mom, on the other hand… wants me to go straight to community college. -_-)

2. I’m planning on taking a reviewing break until April. I’m not taking a blogging break because I’m cohosting Novel Newcomers and that’s a year-round event, so I’ll still post that and discussion posts over at Bookwyrming Thoughts. I’ll still be posting some discussions here at In Wonderland.

What Happened This Month?

1. Life got a little crazy. My job required me to spend most of my spare time writing reports, and we have parent conferences coming up later in March. On top of that, there was some drama with multiple students that I tutor. So, I’ve been up and down and all around on the emotional spectrum this month. Teaching…it’s never easy.

2. I successfully avoided getting sick! Okay, I might have a bit of a cough right now, but nothing bad happened to me in the immune system department this month. No flu. No walking pneumonia. Considering I was on a roll getting sick just about every 2 weeks for the entirety of winter, I’m giving myself a gold star.

3. I’m officially going to be a coach for Girls on the Run! If you don’t know what that is, it’s an organization designed to inspire and empower elementary age girls so that they feel beautiful and wonderful just the way they are. It’s about embracing differences and learning to work with each other instead of attacking one another. And it all culminates in running (or walking) a 5K! I should probably dig my sneakers out of my closet.
