“One must always be careful of books,” said Tessa, “and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”

Only the very weak-minded refuse to be influenced by literature and poetry.

“You know,” Gabriel said, “there was a time I thought we could be friends, Will.”

“There was a time I thought I was a ferret,” Will said, “but that turned out to be the opium haze. Did you know it had that effect? Because I didn’t.”

“They ate it too,” Will reminisced. “Bloodthirsty little beasts. Never trust a duck.”

It’s all right to love someone who doesn’t love you back, as long as they’re worth you loving them. As long as they deserve it.

I loved the first book of this series MORE than The Mortal Instruments! This series I think will end up being so much better than The Mortal Instruments and as much as I love Clary from TMI, I love this book so much more!

Cassandra Clare’s writing is easy to read and easy to understand. There are beautiful moments and then there are just average moments. But it’s the beautiful moments that really captivate you and keep you wanting to read more.

I think I loved William Herondale more than I loved Jace Wayland. Will has so many great lines and I think he is just spectacular. Tessa is great in my book as well. I love how literary she is and I love how she is great at being an individual!

The first half of the book can be a little slow. But it’s all building up to the amazing and action packed ending. I cannot wait to dive back into this world and finish off this series!

Let’s talk about it!
