Model Finley needs someone to help her shed her "good girl" persona, so she'll try Eddie on for size.
New York City model Finley is fed up with hearing the same feedback at castings: she needs to take some serious action to wipe the "good girl" stamp from her resume if she wants to launch to stardom.
Enter Eddie Wells. He's shallow, predictable…and just as lost as Finley feels. Deep down, Finley is drawn to Eddie's bravado, his intensity. Except Eddie is hiding something. A big something. And when it surfaces, both loving and leaving Finley will become so much harder.

Top Ten Writing Must Haves (snacks, muses, songs, etc.) with Mark Perini!

Bose Noise Canceling Headphones: When I sit down and write I want to be in a distraction free zone. So these headphones let me enter a writer’s matrix!

Strand Books Mug: The first books store I ever went to in NYC was Strand. It’s a place that’s kind of fabled in New York. This mug was a gift and it holds the key to life for anyone in NYC…Coffee!!

MacBook Pro: When Julie and I sold Halfway Perfect, I bought myself a new laptop. It’s now become my constant companion.

Two Door Cinema Club Album (Tourist History): I’ve been listening to this band for years, but I’ve been binge-listening to them while we were writing You Before Anyone Else. It’s amazing pump up music.

Iced Coffee: I realize I mentioned coffee previously, but I can’t stress how important it is to my day. My Starbucks order is a Breve, Sugar-Free Vanilla, Grande Iced Coffee. (I’m very proud of it, it’s the perfect drink.)

Field Notes: I still like to write my To-Do list by hand. I also use my notebook to write down any story/character inspirations that come my way day or night.

Skagen Watch: When I’m writing (in the matrix) usually in the evening.  I set alarms to make sure I get up and take a walk at regular intervals. Otherwise, if I didn’t do that I’d look up at the clock and it would be 4 AM.

THE GOOGLE: My grandpa refused to call Google by its proper name. Therefore, in honor of him, I’m sticking to it. I do all my research for my books online and it all starts from The Google.

Trello:  It’s a project management tool that takes the place of Post-it Notes.  I sync it up with my calendar to make sure I’m hitting all my deadlines and also keep track of all the different projects I’m juggling.

Izzy my Puppy:  I’ve got the best dog on the earth (does every pet owner feel that way?) I meet a ton of characters in NYC on our daily walks. It’s a fact that many of those people have made their way into my books/writing. So thank you for that Izzy. Also, she’s a model in her own right. https://www.instagram.com/izzythemini/

readthemallthon

The Pokemon Indigo League Read-A-Thon (#ReadThemAllThon) is hosted by the amazing Aentee @ Read at Midnight! It sounds like super fun and I am obsessed with Pokemon and I feel like my childhood is coming back to me! So, obviously, I am so in for this Read-A-Thon! 🙂 Click the button to sign up!

When Is It?

Sunday August 14th to Sunday September 4th

(3 whole awesome Pokemon and Reading filled weeks!)

Trainer Card

My TBR!

*This is a tentative TBR, because throughout August is also ARC August, so I may get to some of these before the challenge/readathon starts. I’m also hoping that you can read more than 8 books for this! So, I will update this TBR when it deems fitting!*

I recently received a review copy of The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent, so I’m hoping to read this during the #ReadThemAllThon!

368 pages, potential +36CP

readthemallthon-badge02-cascader

I just got approved for The Memory of Things by Gae Polisner. I have a huge feeling that I will end up bawling my eyes out during this book considering it takes place days after 9/11.

288 pages, potential +28CP

I just started reading the Harry Potter Series for the first time and I’m not sure which one I’ll be on during the readathon, so I’ll list them all with the potential and take whichever ones off before the readathon starts!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 341 pages, potential +34CP

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, 435 pages, potential +43CP

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, 734 pages, potential +73CP

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 870 pages, potential +87CP

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, 652 pages, potential +65CP

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, 759 pages, potential +75CP

I really have NO idea which book to do for this one. So, when I comb through my boxes of books at home, I’ll find one that fits diversity!

readthemallthon-badge05-soul

I’m thinking of going with The Lovely Reckless by Kami Garcia for this one. But like I said, maybe something else will come to mind! 🙂

384 pages, potential +38CP

readthemallthon-badge06-marsh

I’m thinking of going with either Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake OR Caraval by Stephanie Garber OR A Shadow Bright & Burning by Jessica Cluess for this one. I’m not sure which one I will end up wanting to read! Ironically all 3 have the same page count! 😀

Three Dark Crowns, 416 pages, potential +41CP

Caraval, 416 pages, potential +41CP

A Shadow Bright & Burning, 416 pages, potential +41CP

readthemallthon-badge07-flame

I’m pretty sure I’m going with either Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter or The Graces by Laure Eve

Vassa in the Night, 304 pages, potential +30CP

The Graces, 352 pages, potential +35CP

readthemallthon-badge08-earth

I am going to be reading The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I’m not sure if it is post-apocalyptic, but it is dystopian. So, there’s that! 🙂

488 pages, potential +48CP

There are a bunch more ways to get more CP points, so I will make sure to add a list to my reading challenges page that shows it all! 🙂

Let’s talk about it!

Are you joining in on this readathon/challenge? Leave a link to your post and I will make sure to check it out! Also, leave any recommendations for me in the comments and I’ll be sure to take a gander and possibly switch some books out (or if we can read more than 8 books, add to them!)

Where Have I Been?

Posted July 18, 2016 by Stephanie in Update / 0 Comments

What’s Been Going On? If you haven’t noticed, In Wonderland has been pretty scarce as of recently. I have been in a pretty big life slump as of late. I’m dealing with a lot of stress from my actual job, which has gotten me in this really bad slump/depressive state. My reading and writing has […]
