Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday (aka: WoW) is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine, spotlighting releases we are waiting for eagerly.

This Week’s Victim Pick….

WoW [86]The Library of Fates by Aditi Khorana
Published by Razorbill on July 18th 2017
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy
Pages: 354
Buy on AmazonBarnes & NobleThe Book Depository
Goodreads

A romantic coming-of-age fantasy tale steeped in Indian folklore, perfect for fans of The Star-Touched Queen and The Wrath and the Dawn
No one is entirely certain what brings the Emperor Sikander to Shalingar. Until now, the idyllic kingdom has been immune to his many violent conquests. To keep the visit friendly, Princess Amrita has offered herself as his bride, sacrificing everything—family, her childhood love, and her freedom—to save her people. But her offer isn't enough.
The unthinkable happens, and Amrita finds herself a fugitive, utterly alone but for an oracle named Thala, who was kept by Sikander as a slave and managed to escape amid the chaos of a palace under siege. With nothing and no one else to turn to, Amrita and Thala are forced to rely on each other. But while Amrita feels responsible for her kingdom and sets out to warn her people, the newly free Thala has no such ties. She encourages Amrita to go on a quest to find the fabled Library of All Things, where it is possible for each of them to reverse their fates. To go back to before Sikander took everything from them.
Stripped of all that she loves, caught between her rosy past and an unknown future, will Amrita be able to restore what was lost, or does another life—and another love—await?

My Thoughts

Are you seeing that cover? ARE YOU! Please allow me to proclaim my undying love for anything Indian inspired featuring a female protagonists. This is definitely not a combination that I had ever been exposed to before, but I am eating this stuff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner now. Holy moly.

Plus, a gorgeous fantasy about a fabled Library that can change your fate? This is book nerd dream-ception. The two main characters sound super kickass, and so different from the usual plot lines we find in YA Fantasy. So many authors are upping the stakes to stay popular in the YA Fantasy game! And, I am extremely happy to reap the rewards. PLEASE Go add this to your Goodreads list.

And now…over to you: what book are you waiting to release? Link me up and I’ll try my best to drop by! 🙂

Love & Gelato [Review]

My Thoughts I really, really, really enjoyed this story. It was the perfect young adult contemporary and exactly what I needed at this time. It’s a story about a girl named Lina who moves to Italy to live with her father for the summer after her mom dies. She is given a journal that her […]

Starflight [Review]

My Thoughts Space themes are always tricky for me. I either love them, or I can’t stand them. I either have a desperate need to read the book or watch the movie, or I just sit there thinking, “Meh.” Starflight fell into the former. It‘s a book that initially drew me in by the cover…and held me […]

The Magnolia Story [Review]

My Thoughts HGTV is my not-so-guilty pleasure. I watch it constantly. It’s my go-to channel whenever I turn on the TV as background noise. And my favorite of all has to be Fixer Upper. So, naturally, when I found out that Chip and Joanna were releasing a book, I was thrilled. Over the moon when […]

The Family Romanov [Review]

My Thoughts Full confession: I think I was Anastasia in a previous life. I’ve always been fascinated by her story, and the story of Russia during the Romanov era. Also, I was addicted to the movie (even if my childhood self did think Rasputin was horrifying). That being put out in the open, the second […]

Waiting on Wednesday (aka: WoW) is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine, spotlighting releases we are waiting for eagerly. This Week’s Victim Pick…. My Thoughts This book was pitched as Leigh Bardugo meets Sixth Sense, I’m dead. And that cover! I can already see the hype that will grow around this baby when […]

Sinner [Review]

Posted November 23, 2016 by Emily in Review / 0 Comments

My Thoughts I’m such a sucker for Cole and Isabel. In all honesty, they’re probably my original OTP. So, imagine my surprise when I was scrolling through Instagram only to pass a fan art of the amazing pair. Naturally, the only way to handle that was to dig through my Kindle archive and reread Sinner. And, […]
