In the three kingdoms of Mytica, magic has long been forgotten. And while hard-won peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest now simmers below the surface.

As the rulers of each kingdom grapple for power, the lives of their subjects are brutally transformed... and four key players, royals and rebels alike, find their fates forever intertwined. Cleo, Jonas, Lucia, and Magnus are caught in a dizzying world of treacherous betrayals, shocking murders, secret alliances, and even unforeseen love.

The only outcome that's certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed?

It's the eve of war.... Choose your side.

Princess: Raised in pampered luxury, Cleo must now embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of magic long thought extinct.

Rebel: Jonas, enraged at injustice, lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country cruelly impoverished. To his shock, he finds himself the leader of a people's revolution centuries in the making.

Sorceress: Lucia, adopted at birth into the royal family, discovers the truth about her past—and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield.

Heir: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, firstborn son Magnus begins to realize that the heart can be more lethal than the sword....

My Thoughts

Oh my dear lord, I loved this book! It was fast paced and well written and damn, I am now a huge fan of Morgan Rhodes! I have had this on my TBR for what seems like forever now. And I kept pushing it because, well, I’m not sure. I’m just stupid really. 😛 But in my defense I had heard that the cliffhangers where near unbearable so I just kept collecting the books and now it is time to binge read the series because the 6th and final book comes out next month!

Seriously, am I glad I read this book and am I glad that I have all of the books to keep reading! I fell in love with the characters so much and oh man, did my heart hurt by the end of the book which scares me for the future of the next books. But I am so incredibly excited to experience this series! And I wish more people read this because it deserves all the readers who love fantasy to read this!

I’ve only seen one episode of Game of Thrones, but I’ve seen many trailers/clips and listened to my friends talk and rave about Game of Thrones and I can honestly say that this is probably a lighter version of Game of Thrones. Morgan Rhodes is ruthless and is not afraid to kill beloved characters and that’s how George R.R. Martin is. And I think that if you love Game of Thrones… then you will love Falling Kingdoms!

It’s hard to say who is my favorite character within this book and there were some plot points I didn’t see coming. But I am in awe! I can tell you that I very much enjoyed Cleo and how she deals with everything that life throws at her. I liked Magnus at the beginning but right now… Magnus has some growing/changing for me to see in order to capture my heart. Jonas is a great character as well. And Lucia.. oh, sweet Lucia, I’m excited to see your story line unfold and grow!

    My thoughts exactly!

I felt like this was fast paced but also kind of a slow buildup. You definitely could tell that this was the first in a series (but I’m not complaining, we get to know the characters better that way!)
