Ten Eight Bookish Resolutions/Goals
Have a better reading year than 2017
The year of 2017 was probably one of my worst reading years to date. I am pretty sure that most of the reading that I did do last year was picture/board books to Amelia. In late November and December, I finally started reading for myself again and it felt amazing to get back in the swing of things. For 2018, I have already read 2 books and am on my third and only plan to read even more! I feel confident about this year!
Get back into blogging/the bookish community
I’ve been away from blogging for almost a year with only posting some posts here and there. Well, I’m back bitches! 🙂 And feel even better about it! I know that I have a long ways to go to get back to the readership that I had before I took my super long hiatus. But I absolutely love this community and have missed you all so dearly!! <3
Be a better #bookstagrammer
This past year I had really upped my game in the bookstagram community and I fell in love with it! Now that my library is almost fully completed, I feel confident that I can only grow as a bookstagrammer because I really love taking pictures of books/bookish merch.. because it’s one of the most beautiful things in the world!
Write better reviews
I really want to be more critical when it comes to my reading. I feel that if I writer better more critical reviews it can only help in my writing goals. And speaking of writing…
Finish a damn manuscript
I feel like this is my goal every year. But damnit, it will for sure happen this year! I have entirely way too many ideas swimming around in my head and I need to get them all out! Plus, I really miss being at home with my daughter during the day. This 9-6 bullshit is not my cuppa tea…
Have more posts about my writing experience
Since I feel that 2018 is my year to accomplish all things reading and writing involved. I really want to write more posts about my writing experiences. I think it’d be a fun segment and something awesome that I can look back on when I do achieve my ultimate goal (becoming a published author, of course). What do you guys think, would you be interested in reading about my experiences?
Read more classics
I’d like to try and read at least 6 classic novels this year. That would be 1 classic every two months. I think it’s doable and I just really feel like it’s necessary for me.
Do some unhauling
My husband has been working hard the past couple months to finish up my library so my books finally have a home that is not boxes. My new shelves are mostly done. There’s just one set on the last wall that needs to be put up. But after putting the majority of my books on the shelves that are currently up, I’ve noticed that I could probably use some unhauling for the books that I am either just never going to read or ones that I just didn’t care for. Have any advice on how I should go about doing this? I’m getting anxiety just thinking about getting rid of some of my precious babies. 🙁
