New Year, New Me: Goals for 2020

Happy New Year!

Can you believe that we are in a new year already? I for one can’t. I feel like it was only a few months ago that I was in the hospital giving birth to my son and in reality it was actually almost a full year ago.

I also cannot believe that we are now in a whole new DECADE! Like, what?! Where is the time going?! Can’t it just slow down a little bit?

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Our family has been kicking that flu’s butt for the past week. It’s been brutal here in the house, but thankfully, everyone is on the mend and hopefully this weekend will be a relaxing one! But I have had a chance to think of what my goals are and what I’d like to accomplish.

So, what are my goals for this upcoming year?

Eat Healthier & Hopefully Work Out

I really need to lose some of this baby weight that hasn’t gone away yet. I’m not sure if it was because I had a C-Section with my son that the weight just kinda sits there because I dropped the pounds from my daughter rather quickly, but never got back to my pre-baby weight before getting pregnant for the second time. So, now I’m hoping to not only drop the pounds from Paul’s pregnancy but also to get back to my weight that I was for my wedding or even lower.

Read at least 80 books

Ideally I’d love to read 100 books, but I figured pick a lower number and hopefully I’ll surpass it. I know I can do it, it’s just a matter of making sure I read more rather than playing a game on my phone, etc.

Finish a First Draft

I have plans to finish a first draft of a bakery romance that I’m writing with my bestie, Dana. But I’m also hoping to finish a first draft of a solo project of mine too. I just have to keep myself accountable. Any ideas on how to do that?

Stick to Bullet Journaling

I’ve started bullet journaling in the past and I never stuck with it. Last year I tried a reading bujo and stuck with it for a solid 7 or 8 months but then got super busy with work and life and it just kind of fell by the wayside. I’m again attempting it this year, but I’m going in it with imperfection in mind. I’m a pretty big perfectionist, always have been when it comes to my work and honestly, I think it’s a form of procrastination. It’s probably why I haven’t finished a first draft yet. But that all changes this year! I’m planning on doing some blog posts with some pictures and even thinking about starting an IG for my journaling journey.

Blog More

I wasn’t kidding when I said I missed blogging. I’m really hoping to get a lot more blogging in because I’ve missed all of you so very much! I’ve missed gushing about books with all of you. It’s a void that’s been in my life since well, pretty much I started popping out babies. But it’s time that I get some of my “me time” back!

It’s the third Thursday of EVERY month, so if you do posts about your Bujo, please do link up with us! Maybe it’ll help you stick with it more? I definitely want to do better with my planners this year. I also want to finish the book I’m currently working on – I’m not that far into, but I’ve been neglecting my own writing for a long time so I need to blog and read a bit less, and focus on that type of writing more.
