The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered - fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris's new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningliess. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend to complexities of human nature - and of herself - while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.
Told from a riveting dual perspective, ALLEGIANT, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the DIVERGENT series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in DIVERGENT and INSURGENT.

I suppose a fire that burns that bright is not meant to last.

I fell in love with him. But I don’t just stay with him by default as if there’s no one else available to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me.

She taught me all about real sacrifice. That it should be done from love…That it should be done from necessity, not without exhausting all other options. That it should be done for people who need your strength because they don’t have enough of their own.

Knowledge is power. Power to do evil…or power to do good. Power itself is not evil. So knowledge itself is not evil.

OHMYGOD! It’s over. I cried. There’s really not much that I can put into this review without spoiling the ending. So, I’m just going to rant about how it is over. I knew what was going to happen because my fiance was talking to me about it one day after watching Divergent and he thought I had finished the whole series. So, I knew what was going to happen. But the entire time I was coming up with different scenarios that Veronica Roth could have gone. And secretly hoping that my fiance was wrong. He wasn’t.

So, it’s officially over. The only thing left I have to read that deals with this world are the novellas. I’m sure I’ll read them at some point. But right now. I think I need some space. I think I need some time to just think about everything that happened in this series. The good, the bad, the ugly.

Do I wish it ended differently? I can honestly tell you that I don’t know. It may be the best ending and it may be the worst ending. I don’t have any thoughts on it yet. It’s like I don’t know how to process this series. I couldn’t give this book 5 stars. I really don’t know how to rate this one.. So, I’m just going to rate it 3.

If you have read this book and want someone to vent with or just talk things through? I’m here. Believe me I’m needing to talk things through. Just contact me. 🙂

Let’s talk about it. Did you read Allegiant? What did you think of it? Did you see it coming? Are you upset, happy, numb? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 🙂

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian DIVERGENT series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

Cruelty does not make a person dishonest, the same way bravery does not make a person kind.

People, I have discovered, are layers and layers of secrets. You believe you know them, that you understand them, but their motives are always hidden from you, buried in their own hearts. You will never know them, but sometimes you decide to trust them.

Insurgent, he says. Noun. A person who acts in opposition to the established authority, who is not necessarily regarded as a belligerent.

Okay, so this second book was fantastic! It was a great installment to the trilogy. Veronica Roth is amazing at what she does. She definitely knows how to make her readers have the ride of their life. This book was definitely one of those roller coaster rides. I’m not disappointed at all.

I’m not going to do any spoilers in case there are some people still out there who haven’t read the second book yet. But just know that if you loved Divergent, you need to read the second book! You learn more about the factions and the factionless! Plus, you learn more about both Tris and Four/Tobias’ lives.

I fell in love with Tris and Tobias even more than I already was. Plus, the rest of the characters are great too. Then there is the ending. The ending that totally leaves you hanging and needing to read the third and final book. It’s been half a year since I read Insurgent and it has been over a year since Allegiant has come out and I haven’t read Allegiant yet. Why? [Possible Spoiler]: I’m scared. I already know what is going to happen (my boyfriend spoiled it for me thinking I already read it) and I really don’t want it to happen. So, I haven’t read it yet. But I’m going to have to read it before the third movie comes out. So, I guess my happiness is going to be squashed.

Anyways, if you’re a fan of Veronica Roth and/or Divergent. Read this book, if you haven’t already that is. 🙂

Let’s talk about it. Did you read Insurgent? Or any other of Veronica’s books? What did you think of them? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 🙂
