Hello everyone! I know, I haven’t been around in quite some time. I have had a lot of personal things that have happened to me. And I am so sorry for the long hiatus. But it was tough keeping up with the Bookish blog and In Wonderland all at the same time with everything that was going on in my life.
For starters, I got a job! An actual, full time, decent pay, with benefits and everything. It’s not what I want to be doing with my life. However, it gives me the money I need to survive in this world. It’s better than some people can say they have. With that, I am still working part time at the pharmacy. I’m waiting to put in my two weeks there until they find a replacement for me. (Which my boss is reluctantly procrastinating because he doesn’t want to see me go).
Since, I got this new job, for the past month I have been slowly moving in with my boyfriend, Joe and our dog, Sophie. As of a week and half ago, I am officially living with Joe in a cozy starter home. So, between the holidays, working about 50-60 hours a week, and moving, I have been SWAMPED!
I do apologize, I hope I still have some readers left. But since I am settled in and finally getting into a routine with work (and my body is finally starting to get used to it) I am making a pledge for 2014 to be amazing.
So, I thought that it would only be fair to write down my goals and challenges I hope to accomplish and participate in 2014.
-Blog more and more often! That includes here at In Wonderland and at Bookish!
-Read a lot more of the books I already own!
-Don’t let my job or social life get in the way of reading and writing!
-Accomiplish writing 50,000 words of my novel (or a new novel) in the month of November for NaNoWriMo! (Maybe even participate in Camp NaNoWriMo)
The Goodreads Challenge:
Read 100 books in the year of 2014
For this challenge I am aiming for the level of First Kiss (21-30 books from my TBR pile; published in 2013 or earlier, no 2014 books for this challenge). I figure that is a good stepping stone and if I read more than that, then that’s good! :]
2014 Debut Author Challenge:For this challenge I am going for at least 12 debut YA/NA authors this year. Some of the books that are on my list (but it is subject to change) include:1. The Murder Complex by Lindsey Cummings2. Alienated by Melissa Landers3. Hexed by Michelle Kay4. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge5. The Falconer by Elizabeth May6. Push Girl by Chelsie Hill7. Salt by Danielle Ellison8. Open Road Summer by Emery Lord9. Camelot Burning by Kathryn Rose10. All That Glows by Ryan Graudin11. Between by Megan Whitmer12. Such Sweet Sorrow by Jenny Trout
If I decide to do any others, I’ll post them at a later date. But tell me, what books are you most anticipating in the upcoming new year? What challenges and goals do you plan on doing? Get ready, because you will be seeing a lot more of me in the coming year!
Have a fun (but safe!) New Year’s Eve! I’ll be enjoying myself with some good company (and quite possibly a book, too!) Happy reading!!
