Monthly Recap [February 2015]

Posted February 28, 2015 by Stephanie in Wrap Up / 0 Comments

So, I’m going to do this new thing monthly where I let you guys know a little bit more about me. I used to do this over on Bookish. But since I’m not there anymore, I decided to bring over a version of the Bookish Digest over here. I’ll let you know what my favorite read was for the month and I’ll link up some of my posts from the month as well as give you guys some news or information about my life.
My pick for the month of February:

Title: Heartbeat
Author: Elizabeth Scott
Series: Standalone
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Realistic Fiction
Published By: HarlequinTeen on January 28, 2014

Does life go on when your heart is broken?

Since her mother’s sudden death, Emma has existed in a fog of grief, unable to let go, unable to move forward—because her mother is, in a way, still there. She’s being kept alive on machines for the sake of the baby growing inside her.

Estranged from her stepfather and letting go of things that no longer seem important—grades, crushes, college plans—Emma has only her best friend to remind her to breathe. Until she meets a boy with a bad reputation who sparks something in her—Caleb Harrison, whose anger and loss might just match Emma’s own. Feeling her own heart beat again wakes Emma from the grief that has grayed her existence. Is there hope for life after death—and maybe, for love?

What happened in February:
1. I GOT ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shit! Excuse my language. But it was totally out of the blue and I’m so happy! I can’t believe it happened!
2. Joe actually got me a Valentine’s Day present (not the proposal, that happened after Valentine’s Day), which ironically inspired me to write a new story.
3. Tax refund came back and I bought a lot of books…
4. I saw Fifty Shades of Grey on Feb 13 with my girlfriends. I liked it. I think there were parts that could have been done better and I think the second movie will be a lot better, but ultimately, I enjoyed the first movie. 🙂
What I’m looking forward to for March:
1. Girls night at the Casino!
2. St. Patrick’s Day. I’m Irish so of course I’m going to be looking forward to this holiday!
3. My best friend’s bachelorette party!!
4. Lots of reading!! I have quite a few reviews scheduled that I read a while ago, so I’m going to attempt to get caught up on my reading which hopefully will have me be able to schedule more reviews. And not worry about getting no reviews out.

Let’s talk about it. What were some of your favorite reads this month? Did you read any of these books? What are you looking forward to next month? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 🙂
