She’s more gunpowder than girl—and the fate of the desert lies in her hands.Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mystical beasts still roam the wild and barren wastes, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinni still practice their magic. But there’s nothing mystical or magical about Dustwalk, the dead-end town that Amani can’t wait to escape from.Destined to wind up “wed or dead,” Amani’s counting on her sharpshooting skills to get her out of Dustwalk. When she meets Jin, a mysterious and devastatingly handsome foreigner, in a shooting contest, she figures he’s the perfect escape route. But in all her years spent dreaming of leaving home, she never imagined she’d gallop away on a mythical horse, fleeing the murderous Sultan’s army, with a fugitive who’s wanted for treason. And she’d never have predicted she’d fall in love with him…or that he’d help her unlock the powerful truth of who she really is.(Goodreads)
Where To Get:
Penguin Teen came up with this awesome promo on asking bloggers what their blogger reputation would be. This promo is inspired by Alwyn Hamilton’s Rebel of the Sands because in her novel, Amani finds herself becoming a myth in the making and her reputation growing.
So, what is my blogger reputation?
1. Late to the Game
I feel like I was late to the game on so many series, and it just keeps happening. I’m pretty sure I was one of the last people to get in on the Throne of Glass series. I haven’t read The Hunger Games (but I really don’t think I ever will). And to make things worse.. I have only read the first Harry Potter book (THAT WILL CHANGE THIS YEAR!)
2. Unable to Brain or Human When Life Gets in the Way
What I mean by this is that when life happens, like this wedding that I am planning and having in just a short 50 some days, my brain is so fried and overwhelmed that I cannot think clearly. If you had only just met me, you’d probably think that I was some scatter brain or dumb person. I can assure you I’m not. But life is hectic right now, so there are a lot of things that I am forgetting right now. And a lot of books that just keep piling up because my brain is so overwhelmed, that I can’t even read straight. It’s really pathetic and I cannot wait to get a break after this wedding.
3. Owning More Books Unread Than Read
It’s not shocking that I own a lot of books. Enough to where my future husband is creating a library for me after the wedding. What can I say, I love books. But my biggest problem is that I buy way too many and I have way more unread books than read books. Now, this doesn’t really bother me, because I do collect the books and I know I will eventually get to them, but it’s kind of embarassing when a friend comes over and they look through my books and say “this one sounds interesting, how’d you like it?” And I have to say “I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve heard it’s good.” This conversation happens way too often.
4. A Storyteller Desperately Wanting to Finish a Manuscript
I love to tell stories. I think it’s the main reason why I love to write so much. I have all these ideas, stories, and characters bouncing around in my head at all times, it’s amazing that when I am not overwhelmed by life getting in my way, that I am still able to brain with all these stories and voices running around in my head.
5. Obsessed With Pretty Covers
Okay, who doesn’t love a good book cover? But there are many times I will buy a book just because the cover is gorgeous and I want it on my shelves 🙂
6. Super Friendly
I try to be everyone’s friends. I love chatting with people. I love having a good time. Now, this isn’t to say that I’m not a bitch. Because I am certainly that as well but only when my buttons are pushed to that extreme. And I’m not afraid to say what is exactly on my mind. However, I do go out of my way to be friendly and overcome those shortcomings.
