Nix has spent her entire life aboard her father’s ship, sailing across the centuries, across the world, across myth and imagination.
As long as her father has a map for it, he can sail to any time, any place, real or imagined: nineteenth-century China, the land from One Thousand and One Nights, a mythic version of Africa. Along the way they have found crewmates and friends, and even a disarming thief who could come to mean much more to Nix.
But the end to it all looms closer every day.
Her father is obsessed with obtaining the one map, 1868 Honolulu, that could take him back to his lost love, Nix’s mother. Even though getting it—and going there—could erase Nix’s very existence.
For the first time, Nix is entering unknown waters.
She could find herself, find her family, find her own fantastical ability, her own epic love.
Or she could disappear.

Where To Get:
Sometimes a person has to let go of something to take hold of something else.
I’m not a lady. I’m a sailor.
Sometimes fate makes choices for us.
The one thing I could never buy was more time.
OMG THIS BOOK.
I’m deeply in love with it, so it’s not a review, but rather my fan girl cries.
It happened so that the first time I heard about this book was a long time ago and really waiting for this all along, because… JUST READ THE DESCRIPTION ABOVE.
And when the book ended up in my hands, I was so happy and I immediately started to read.
I have to say, this book is all that I’ve ever needed: time travel (I’m a fan of Doctor Who), ships (I grew up by the sea and it’s in my blood), diversity (just yes), the charming thief (more YES)… EVERYTHING.
Nix is a wonderful character. She’s smart, reliable and absolutely beautiful. I wish I had such a friends like her and Kash.
It’s the character which is close to me, because I understand and accept her and her actions completely. I’m so grateful to Heidi for these characters and the book in general because it reminded me why I read and why I love to do it (it’s weird, but sometimes things like that are forgotten).
I really recommend this book to literally everyone because it’s so versatile that will be enjoyed by everyone. You’ll experience many wonderful moments while reading this book, so run and pre-order it, read it, give it to friends and share all the love.
It’s worth it.
